Walnuts for Skin

We all know that walnuts are one of the healthiest nuts, usually consumed as snacks these are nutritious, tasty, and full of benefits for body and mental health. But many few know or understand its impact on skincare.

Walnuts contain about 65% fat by weight, like other nuts, most of the calories in walnuts come from fat. This makes them an energy-dense, high-calorie food.

However, even though walnuts are rich in fat and calories, studies indicate that they don’t increase obesity risk when replacing other foods in your diet. They are richer than most other nuts in polyunsaturated fats. The most abundant one is an omega-6 fatty acid called linoleic acid. ALA is considered especially beneficial for heart health. It also helps reduce inflammation and improve the composition of blood fats.

Walnut oil is rich in vitamins, including vitamin B2, vitamin B1, vitamin B3, vitamin E, vitamin K, and niacin. These Omega fatty acids and rich oils are very nourishing to the skin and hair. Especially for people with dry skin, dryness in the eyes, frizzy hair, dandruff and dry scalp, stress, low stamina, dull skin with wrinkles. Many studies have come up to include walnut oils and shells in skincare products to target many such skin issues.

Rich in antioxidants that help fight free radical to protect and promote healthy cells. In addition, it’s has anti-cancer properties, which is being studied for its ability to help prevent a wide variety of cancers. Walnut oil provides antiseptic, antibacterial, and antifungal properties, which can help reduce the risk of infection, kill bacteria, and fight against fungi, especially Candida. It is also has anti-inflammatory, anti-aging, emollient, regenerative, and toning properties that can help promote healthier skin that looks young and fresh.

Including them directly into your diet. 1-2 nuts a day will give good visible results in a month. Remember that too much of anything is bad. So keep it moderate and as per body and skin needs. Use it for 2 months and then switch to a different nuts/diet or stop consuming for 1-2 months, resume later. This way you make sure you are taking a break/ change/ explore different types of nuts, diets according to your health (body, mental, and skin). And your skin is getting the best of both worlds.

A2 Ghee

After long time of revolution and development the world and modern technology convinced us that ghee is bad for our health. It is the fat which gets stored in our blood and tissues making them fat and bubbler, which in-turn increases the risk of diseases and serious conditions.

But now science and technology claims it’s benefits, the marketing of A2 protein and it’s sources increased rapidly in last few years. Now the same old ghee or clarified butter is much more expensive than it was before and this is not just because of the inflation but also because of these market heads, who are controlling the market. After few years later they may say something else and people would believe them and this game goes no, to set higher competitive standards and increase their profits. And this strategy is same for almost all the products not just to butter/ghee.

The question is till what time we – as consumers will allow such profit maker to play this game. Every time a new product gets in the market- it makes big news not by showing what’s good is there in using it but on what’s bad in using other. How we as consumers where going wrong and buying bad and harmful things, and how this new stuff is saving you from harm. And the same old tactics in a new polished packet goes viral. Therefore, always be careful of what you are buying and why do you need to change from the original. Is that really causing any harm or it’s just firms making fool of you.

Coming to clarified butter/ghee, it has always been an integral part of Indian cuisine and many other day to day aspects of life. The benefits are much known to each and every Indian household, be it cooking, taste, beauty or health – it is used in all of the above. And Desi Ghee derived from Desi/Indian cow was the only source back then to this Golden nectar. It is not only good for health but also an excellent ingredient for healthy, glowing skin.

However, by increasing competition and convincing the consumers that it has been a harmful product, reduces it’s sales and sources – resulting in inflation and higher demand of this product in market today. Now there are also many fake products taking the best of opportunity.

Here I have a brand which is tried and tested by myself and it’s at pretty affordable price. Yugmantra Organic Foods offers good quality of desi ghee, It’s light yellow in colour with mild smell and soft texture. With high heating/ melting point, the butter stay in almost liquid form. I have tested their Shahiwal Cow breed ghee – it’s better than kankereja Cow ghee from other brand, which I will discuss later. It was good in digestion and totally worth a try. Please make sure to order from their own website or contact number. Also keep a close eye on quality as these days I have experienced that after getting satisfied with my 1st order, I placed another but the quality wasn’t good at second purchase and the product arrived might be fake.
